The Natural Enviroment of Assynt streatches from the coast to the mountain tops - and the wildlife and plants are as varied as the land!

Golden Eagles can be found soaring over the mountains, divers on the hill lochs, and seabirds along the coast. Handa Island bird reserve is just to the North (Scottish Wildlife Trust)

The excellent Highland Council rangers lead wildlife walks throughout the summer - details. Visit them at their base in Lochinver at the Assynt Visitor Centre.
